CB Train Junction is in ART WALK!
In August, the Colonial Beach Art Walk was extended up Colonial Avenue and now includes CB Train Junction. So far, we have sponsored a couple of artists and had a number of happy visitors.
In August we hosted Aidan, the young entrepreneur and founder of ACR Creations, who features 3-D printed and laser art creations. He brought some novel items including laser cut wooden train puzzles and laser cut and etched locomotive engravings on wood. We now carry these items in the shop.
In September, we hosted Ben Bernardin of Iron Accents, who creates art from steel. His work is hand cut and shaped. Included in the artwork he brought, were several items he made from railroad spikes that I found intriguing and decided to offer in the shop as well. He makes simple decorative pieces by heating and twisting railroad spikes and polishing them.
He also makes crosses by cutting and welding railroad spikes together.
The Colonial Beach Art Walk is generally held on second Fridays. The next on though , has been moved to the first Friday in October to avoid a conflict with Bike Fest being hedl the second weekend in October. We look forward to hosting these and other artists in the future.
